5-7PM Sundays
In an increasingly media- saturated world, it can feel like "swimming
against the tide" to create a quiet space to share time together. We're here to help! Let WSCL help you make Sunday night "family night". Our programming from 5 to 7PM is designed to bring the family together, share a story and learn about the world of Classical Music. 5PM-From the Top
Hear young classical musicians from across the country as they share their talents and love for music with host Christopher O'Reilly.
6PM- Classics for Kids
A simple 6 minute program that focuses on one composer or theme a month. Local host Chris Ranck fills the remaining half-hour with examples from each program.
6:30- A Jarful of Stories
A staple of WSCL for many years now, Ricck Brown brings his original stories for children of all ages. Don't forget about Duke the Mouse!
You and your family are welcome to stay for the rest of our Sunday night programs as well. At 7PM, join the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Hear some of the world's best sacred choral and organ music on With Heart and Voice at 8PM. The evening ends at 9pm with Harmonia, highlighting music from the Medieval to the Baroque.
Classics for Kids
Broadcast every Sunday evening at 6PM on WSCL, Classics for Kids® brings classical music to life in a way that reaches out to kids while delighting adults. Host Naomi Lewin focuses on a different composer each month, with each week’s program highlighting a different aspect of that composer’s life and work. Weekly topics may include the composer’s life, a trip through the music and its instrumentation, an explanation of the musical form, the story behind the piece or interesting connections between composers.
